Point of departure: Pick up at your hotel in Chachapoyas.
Am: A drive of approximately 1 hour to the village of Cocachimba, where there will be a brief stop to reserve your lunches in advance and purchase your entrance fees. From Cocachimba you will embark on a spectacular 6 km hike that takes you directly to the base of the waterfall, passing through forest and the local farms, and enjoying an immense biodiverse tapestry of flora and fauna (mainly birds, monkeys, and flowers endemic to the area). The guide will recount the local legends once at the waterfall’s base and you will have plenty of time as well for photography and for bathing in the waterfall’s strong and refreshing embrace.
Afterwards the return hike to Cocachimba to have the delicious regional dishes you reserved for your lunch. Then transport back to your hotel in Chachapoyas.

Recommendations:
- Use comfortable hiking shoes.
- Bring insect repellent, sunblock, sunglasses, hat, and waterproof clothing and/or other types of waterproof coverings.
- Bring cash. In Chachapoyas there are only the banks of BCP (Banco del Credito de Peru) and BN (Banco de Nacion).
- Bring any required personal medication.
