Point of departure: Pick up from your hotel in Chachapoyas.
Am: We begin our tour with a drive of approximately 2 hours to the village of Cuispes. From there you will embark on a light hike to a true paradise. This protected ecosystem houses a rich variety of flora, such as orchids, bromeliads, and passionflowers. It also brims with over 223 species of birds. You may even come across majestic mammals such as the Spectacled Bear.
Upon reaching the waterfall of Yumbilla, you can appreciate its height of 891 meters, which according to the World Waterfall Database, prides itself in being the second tallest waterfall in Peru and the fifth in the world. A truly overwhelming spectacle!
You will have plenty of time to relax and absorb the immense beauty of the area in all its wonder. A photographer’s dreamland. After being enchanted by nature’s magic, we will make a stop during the return trip in the village of Pedro Ruiz for lunch, before finally reaching Chachapoyas.

Recommendations:
- Use comfortable hiking shoes.
- Bring insect repellent, sunblock, sunglasses, hat, and waterproof clothing and/or other types of waterproof coverings.
- Bring cash. In Chachapoyas there are only the banks of BCP (Banco del Credito de Peru) and BN (Banco de Nacion).
- Bring any required personal medication.
