Point of departure: Pick up at your hotel in Chachapoyas.
Am: We begin the tour with transportation to Lamud, the provincial capital of Luya, where you will get to see its plaza de armas and also reserve your lunch in advance. From there a further half hour ride to visit South America’s first illuminated cave, Quiocta.
There you can admire and photograph stalactites and stalagmites of immense size, rock art, and funerary remains. You will discover all the hidden secrets and magic of Uku Pacha while accompanied by an expert guide.
Then a return to Lamud to enjoy the delicious lunches you reserved and afterwards a further one hour ride to the village of Cruzpata.
Upon arriving in Cruzpata you will embark on a hike of approximately 25 minutes to reach the sacred mountain where the Sarcophagi of Karajia have their eternal rest. These anthropomorphic cliff tombs are unique to the Chachapoyas culture and were constructed around the twelfth century. There you will have plenty of time for photography and for the guide’s explanation before returning to Cruzpata to then be returned to Chachapoyas.
