Point of departure: Pick up at your hotel in Chachapoyas.
Am: We begin our tour with a drive of approximately an hour and a half to the village of San Jeronimo, from where you will embark on an exciting hike or horse ride of around 2 and a half hours to the cliff tombs of El Tigre.
This impressive set of 35 sarcophagi, legacy of the Chachapoyas culture, was recently publicized and declared a cultural patrimony of the nation. During the excursion you will bedazzled by the majesty of the surrounding mountains, providing panoramas of indescribable beauty.
At the site itself the expert guide will reveal all the secrets and fascinating history of these amazing tombs. Lunch will be had upon returning to San Jeronimo and afterwards you will return to Chachapoyas.
